MAFFRA: Serrated tussock management and herbicide resistance forum

16th August 2010

Monday 16th August 2010

From 6:00pm

At Department of Primary Industries

1 Stratford Road, VIC, AUSTRALIA 3860

The Victorian Serrated Tussock Working Party in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries invites landholders and key stakeholders to a serrated tussock management and herbicide resistance forum.

Serrated tussock, a Weed of National Significance is regarded as one of the worst weeds in Australia due to its invasiveness, potential for spread and high degree of difficulty and economic cost for its control. It’s a widespread established invasive plant in Victoria causing degradation to environmental and agricultural land.

Resistant populations to the herbicide flupropanate have recently been confirmed at several sites in South East Australia including 2 sites in Victoria. This forum will provide landholders with information on why serrated tussock is resistant to flupropanate and how to prevent, identify and manage herbicide resistance.

The forum will also provide information on other serrated tussock research projects, serrated tussock best practice management and serrated tussock programs.
